Full portfolio transfer from one broker to another broker
Let's assume that all your assets have been transferred from one broker to another one. Most likely, in this case, the new broker's report will not contain information about your transaction history before the transfer, as this information was left with the other broker.
In this case, the procedure is as follows - reports from your old broker contain only old transactions, reports from the new broker contain only new transactions. To keep correct statistics with all history, we need to collect all your transactions from both accounts.
We recommend the following steps:
If you already have a portfolio in the service from your old broker
1. Go to the portfolio manage page and create a backup copy of your portfolio.
To do this, click on the three dots button in the portfolio row and the clone button
This point is needed so that you can go back to the old version of the portfolio if something goes wrong.
2. Upload all remaining transactions from your old broker, if they have not yet been added to the service. To do this, upload the broker's report before the asset transfer date and import it into the portfolio.
3. On the report import page, select a new broker.
Click on the button with the name of the broker to change to a different broker.
4. Now upload new reports from your new broker from the date of the asset transfer.
If you don't have this portfolio in the service yet
- Create a new portfolio.
- At the broker report import, select your old broker.
- Upload your old broker's reports from the first transaction to the date of asset transfer.
- Once you have uploaded all reports from the old broker, select the new broker on the same page.
- Upload reports from the new broker from the asset transfer date.
Partial transfer of assets
What if not all assets have been transferred and now some of your assets are in one account and some in another?
In this case, you can use the asset transfer function with all transactions.
- Upload all reports from the old broker to portfolio 1
- Create a new portfolio 2, where you upload reports from the new broker.
- In portfolio 1 go to the Portfolio → Holdings page. Select all assets to be
transferred from portfolio 1 to portfolio 2 by ticking the check-boxes
4. Click the Transfer button
5. Select portfolio 2
Done, assets moved from one portfolio to another with all transactions.
You can then upload new reports to portfolio 1 from the old broker (from the transfer date), and new reports from the new broker to portfolio 2.
